      Hi, all,
It was during an electronic debug and upgrade that the panel due stops working. (I didn't notice when until I finished both) I was having a fan problem due to the short in always on fans. According to suggestions from this forum, I connected the V_IN of V FAN JUMPER SELECT to V_IN of POWER IN using a wire on the back of the board. Also, there is jumper already in V FAN JUMPER SELECT connecting V_IN and V_FAN. After that, the fans are working properly. The next thing I did is installing a FSR sensor. I used the kit from ultibots and connected the JohnSL board to the E0 stop. It works fine from what I observed. But then I turned everything on and find that the Panel Due is pitch black. I am not sure what has happened so I tried to connect the board to PC to test the board and update the firmware. Then I found out that my PC isn't recognizing the board at all. I have installed the latest version of arduino IDE on my computer. Is there any idea what I should do with it now?
      Thanks!

Is there any suggestions on what to test? I have tested the voltage between +5V pin and GND pin the panel due output on duet, It is 4.6V. So it should be either the screen that is not working or the control board or maybe both. Since the board does not connect to PC, I assume the board has some problem.

          Two suggestions:

          1. Connect the Duet via USB to a PC running a host program such as Pronterface. Send M111 S1 P3 to the printer. This will echo to USB all gcode commands received. If you see messages that start "aux":, those are from PanelDue. In which case, the PanelDue is probably working correctly but the backlight inverter on the TFT panel may have failed.

          2. Connect the PanelDue via USB cable to a PC. If Device manager shows "Bossa program port" under "Ports (Com and LPT) then you have probably pressed the Erase button on PanelDue and you need to re-flash the firmware. OR you can presse Erase followed by Reset anyway, check that the Bossa Port appears, and re-flash the firmware anyway.

Please note, many USB ports provide insufficient power to power a PanelDue with a 7" panel attached.

            Thanks for your rely David,
So I've tried what you told.
            1. I connected the duet to PC and send M111 S1 P3 to the printer and here is what it replies:
            Debugging enabled for modules: GCodes(3)
            Debugging disabled for modules: Platform(0) Network(1) Webserver(2) Move(4) Heat(5) DDA(6) Roland(7) PrintMonitor(8) Storage(9)

            So, no messages start "aux".

            2. I also tried to connect paneldue via USB to a PC and a mac but my device manager doesn't seem to know that it is even connected. I am sure that the USB port works since I also used it to connect to the duet.

I guess that it is the board that fails? But I am not understanding why. Maybe I should just replace the board?

The PC won't recognise the PanelDue unless the firmware has been erased. So try pressing the PanelDue Erase button for 1 second, then the Reset button. Then see whether the PC recognises it as a Bossa port.

Thanks for your patient suggestions. I press the erase button for a few seconds and the reset button for a few seconds under the following situations: paneldue connected to the PC; paneldue connected to the duet; paneldue connected to both duet and PC. Still, the PC won't recognize it. I am quite frustrated now about this thing. Maybe it is me who can't properly use it..

Try a different USB cable. If that doesn't work, ask your supplier for a warranty replacement.

                    Hi,
I have PaneDue v3.0 with 4.3 inch LCD. I bought it this month. First connection - "black screen". I switched it off and on again. Second connection - it looked good. I tried some menus and I was happy and went to sleep. I switched it on next day and again black screen. I tried to touch the screen. Beep sounded and X axis homed. I switchen it off and on again. Still black and no beep after touching. After all this I tried to solve this problem using this forum. It looks like the paneldue is working but LCD not.
                    Can anyone help me?
                    Thank you.
                    Jiri

Please confirm that you are providing sufficient 5V power to the Duet, preferably via the internal 5V regulator (5V_INT_EN jumper). If so, the most likely cause of the problem is a bad backlight inverter on the TFT panel.

5V_INT_EN jumper is enabled. There is a 4,92V on 4-way cable.

OK, so what can I do with this LCD? Warranty replacement?

Yes. The TFT panel probably has a dodgy backlight inverter, but it's not impossible that the PanelDue controller board is at fault. So contact your supplier to arrange to send both back.
