This is probably a simple one. I'm on the unstable branch and sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade is only updating the main board and not the 3HC expansion board. How do I force an upgrade on the expansion board as well? The main board is on 3.3RC3 and the 3HC is still on 3.3b1

@ctilley79 Use M997 S0 B[n] where the B parameter number is the CAN address of your 3HC: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M997_Perform_in_application_firmware_update

You may need to download the 3HC firmware binary from https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/3.3RC3 , I can't remember if the unstable feed downloads the latest automatically (it should).

Ok. That worked and I didn't have to upload the bin file. Might want to look into why the package manager didn't want to flash the expansion board by default. The expected behavior is that upgrading via package manager would keep all attached main boards and expansion boards on compatible versions when upgrading.

@ctilley79 Might be because it's on the unstable (rather than stable) feed. I'll ask @chrishamm

I see what you mean but at some point the unstable branch also updated the expansion board. I didn't install 3.3b1 on the expansion board manually. The package manager did at some point.
