Axis Stop Input

Are the limits hard wired to disable there respective drives or can/is the firmware adapted to do what it likes with the stop signal?
I'm in the process of familiarising myself with my old Duet 0.6 haven't pulled down the wiring diagrams for the board, or latest firmware yet.

The firmware does what likes with the endstop switch inputs - the same as for all other 3D printer electronics that I know.

Thanks for confirming that. If I were to create user inputs are there specific pins to aim for on the expansion board header that wouldn't require too much fiddling to translate onto the later boards?
