Hmmm.. what to do, before I do. Checked wiring, checked connections, and everything is working. It's always been this way since day one and since it's working I didn't question it. I was updating firmware on the Duet and thought I'd check PanelDue while I was at it. I happen to notice the screenshots on the homepage look nothing like mine (never seen the screen quite frankly to know the difference until now); before I start messing around, I figured I'd ask.

      Hello is it a 7" ?

Try to remove, clean and reinsert the big back ribbon.

My current experience with 7" : I tried 3 of them, 3 different suppliers always the same problem => offset pixel, bad color alignment, or pixels flickering.

After few investigations and after I cleaned all the connectors, I put my finger on the back ribbon, move it until at some point I've fixed the problem, but totally unable to correct the problem without my finger 🙂 (tape + little printed piece, etc)

I've finally admit that the problem was a bad quality ribbon or a lack of insulation of it… Some people don't have this problem, for my part I had it 3 times. I moved to a 5" model, no problem anymore.

      Delta goes BrrrRRRRrrrrrRRRRrrr

Those colours usually means you have flashed the firmware for the 5 inch screen and you are using a 7 inch screen, or vice versa.

That was it! I didn't flash it when I received it, so the default firmware obviously isn't for a 7" even tho I purchased them together as a set. I would like to flash it to 1.17, but Eclipse won't run due to Java conflicts (Why I chose to dev in .Net. lol), so I had to go with 1.16.

You don't need to run Eclipse to flash the 1.17 firmware, just download the binary from https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware/releases and flash it using bossac.

              Hi There,

I'm confused as to which version is version 1.17?
From the above cited URL, I quote:

              Release 1.17

dc42 released this on Aug 23 [2017?] · 4 commits to master since this release

Hot end temperature limit increased to 1600C
Added builds for forthcoming version 3 board and "East Rising" display

              PanelDue-v2-7.0.bin 94.8 KB
              PanelDue-v3-4.3.bin 76.2 KB
              PanelDue-v3-5.0.bin 94.6 KB
              PanelDue-v3-7.0.bin 94.7 KB
              PanelDue-v3-7.0E.bin 94.6 KB
              etc,

I have a few questions regarding versions.

              1. determination of the HW version of DUET-E (EtherNet) that I have?
              2. determination of HW version of PanelDue hardware that I will have when its delivered in a few days (via FilaStruder)?
              3. how do you identify a build version? Is it something akin to v1.17-v2-4.3?
              4. Re; PanelDue HW controller version and LCD+Touch panel version/vendor ship'd, which of the above (sub?) versions should be flashed and why one over another?

              Thanks in advance,

              3mm

The 7.0E is an experimental build for a different type of 7" TFT panel that we are trying out. Do not use it on current production PaneDues.

The PanelDue PCB will have the version number on the back, either 2.0 or 3.0. But version 2.0 boards sold out several weeks ago, so you will receive a version 3.0 board. This means you need the build with -v3- in the name.

I've updated the text at https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware/releases.

                  @DC42,

Your revised explanation on GitHub is quite adequate. Thank you.
