Duet 3 6HC input voltage and psu selection!
-
Hello, I've seen the posts about voltages and menawell LRS-350-36 PSU to use with the duet 3 6HC board, though is unclear what to use...i see the max voltage input for duet 3 board is 32v, when I crank down the regulator of my lrs-350-36 psu it only gets to 32.4v...seen a post where a user said that his psu(the same model of mine) can be lowered at 30v but mine doesn't...
So what psu you all use to be within limitation of the duet 6HC board?
On the same note searching for adequate psu I've find the meanwell RSP-320-27 witch is a 27v psu but it can go up to 31.5v according meanwell datasheet... -
I just purchase a Mean Well unit rated at 24 Volts DC at a suitable current, the current being determined by the devices drawing current - steppers, heaters, fans, etc.
Here is one I purchased for a small printer with an AC power bed heater: NES-350-24
With the bed heater on AC the power needed for the DC loads was within the rating of this power supply.

@fcwilt I have plenty 24v psu lrs-350-24...though I wanted to use 32v on the duet 3 6HC on my cnc because of the nema 23 steppers

Got it.
I see lots of 24 and 36 but not much in between - at least readily available.
You could always use a 24 and a 5 in series. With the typical adjustments 32 might be doable.

@fcwilt yup that why I asked...seams the 27v will be the right choice getting it up to 31.5v...320watt is sufficient for my cnc...I only power the motors...no heaters, no other thing that need power...maybe a fan to cool the board...though tmc5160 used at 2.2 amp on each motor don't even get worm
