I can't see, to find a reason for it, but the resurrect.g is not created on power loss.

The extruder does move up the 1mm but that's it. once I restart the printer the resurrect,g is not found.

If you pause a print, is it created?

@charliedrums said in resurrect.g not created on power loss.:

          G1 Z1

Can you try removing the z move and see if that makes a difference? That may allow enough power to complete the save in case that's the issue.

Powerloss recovery should be working in SBC mode unless this is a regression.

Would you be able to test in standalone mode to see if it works there?

@phaedrux I believe I can but have never done stand alone mode. I can take out the sd card from the pi and install on another sd card and put it on the 6hc and will it ignore the attached sbc or do I have to remove the ribbon cable connecting the pi?

Also I don't have a long enough lan cable to connect to the duet. Once I try would the file be in the sd card where I can take the sd card and plop it into the computer to check it created it?

@charliedrums We recommend a solid external 5V supply for the Duet + SBC for this feature to work. When power to the SBC + Duet is cut, the SBC may turn off before the Duet can inform the SBC about the content of resurrect.g or the SBC may lose power off while it's trying to write the content of resurrect.g to the microSD card (see also here). For one of my setups running a Duet 3 Mini5+ and SBC a small external 5V buck regulator was sufficient to keep both devices long enough but it might not suffice on a MB6HC that drives an additional Pi as well. I'm sorry if this caused you problems, we'll update the documentation accordingly.

@chrishamm I'm kinda lost here. I have the Pi connected separately to power with an official pi 4 power supply. Still connected separately it does not create the resurrect.g
