SD card corrupted?

I turned on my printer and the fans run constantly. I have no control over anything, can't
connect to the DWC. Took the sd card out and put it in the computer. The files on the card are now named 9 !9 )9 9 <9 }9 19.Any idea what has happened here?

Ok thanks, I'll try that later today. I have a feeling its the sd card but I've never seen one
rewrite the file names and delete the data like this has. -

I think you see some random blocks due to a garbled lookup table. Definitely time to replace the SD card - hopefully, you have a backup?

It was the sd card. I was lucky I had a config backed up on my tablet that was fairly recent. I did have to redo everything else though, macros, firmware and so on. I'm going to make a backup sd card as soon as I get everything tuned right.Thanks again,

SD cards are a fairly fickle medium. Having a good backup is always recommended.

Lesson learned then - almost. Personally I wouldn't wait to get everything tuned before making a back-up. The strategy I use is to create a folder on my PC which is backed up both to a local NAS as well as to "the cloud" via my Google Drive. When I need to make any changes to my configuration or macros, I always make those changes to the files within the folder on my PC, then upload them to the SD card on the machine. Never the other way round. So when (not if) the SD card fails, I always have the very latest files available to copy to a new card.
