Update fail on very first step!
-
@phaedrux There is a window and a door between the router and the machine. It's no more then about 10 feet. It's worked fine for over two years.
Right now it refuses to connect. When it did connect within 1 second I'd get a error message (501) and it disconnects and attempts to reconnect.

So is DWC actually loaded or are you just getting the error in the browser?
What browser are you using? Have you done a hard refresh of the page? The DWC files would have changed between 2.x and 3
-
@phaedrux I get the DWC it looks OK for about 1 second then the red alert pops up and it tries to reconnect.
-
Can you grab a screen shot?
-
@phaedrux I can't get it to connect now.
-
What OS and browser?
-
@phaedrux Mac OSX 12.5.1
-
So Safari?
-
@phaedrux Yes.
-
If the wifi module blue light stays lit even when you can't connect then I don't think it's a wifi issue.
Can you download this zip file and use the contents of it to replace the contents of the /www folder on the SD card..
https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.0/DuetWebControl-SD-2.04.zip
Just in case the files didn't get updated correctly.
Then try again but use Control-F5 to do a hard refresh in the browser to make sure it's getting the latest files from the Duet.
-
@phaedrux I'll give it a go. I was going to ask if that was possible.
-
@phaedrux Connected! and staying connected!
-
@phaedrux So... what should I do next? 3.3? 3.4.1? Stop and get a shot of Whiskey?
-
@phaedrux DOH!
It lost the connection!
How do I upload pics on this system? -
You can drag an image file onto the message window
-
-
do you have chrome installed to try?
We could also try leaving 3.0 behind and going straight to 3.4 but it takes some manual doing.
-
@phaedrux I think I figured it out. I got the web control to load.
Reloaded it 3 times and it worked OK.
I have a PanelDue (already updated FW for 3.3 not 3.0) which was connected physically but on the screen it said it was connecting. Seemed to make sense there may have been a lot of EM noise on this cable which goes across the entire box to the front. I disconnected it and it's been OK for the longest amount of time.
I tried so many things! I even put a repeater right next to the board! It was the noisy Paneldue cable all the time.So assuming this was the problem... what should I do next???
-
@phaedrux Still good. I think that was the problem.
So should I update to 3.3 or go right to 3.4.1???
Then after that will be doing the config file. This is a tool changer.
-
Update to 3.3 first, and then 3.4.1. That should help avoid any possible problems. The firmware folder changes in 3.3.
Once you are at 3.4 the PanelDue might start working again.
