      Hi,
I have two Toolboards 1LC v1.2 attached to a tool distribution board and a 6HC main board. CAN links are all connected, power is connected throughout but one of the boards is not showing a status light despite it being visible to the main board and I've also been able to update the firmware on it to the latest version. Both toolboards are set up identically with nothing attached to them other than the CAN and power at the moment. The only difference I can see, other than the status light not working , is that the mcu temperature on the board with a working and flashing status light is around 9 degrees C higher than the one without the light suggesting that the one without the light is not working 100% correctly.

Can anyone shed any light on this as I want to make sure there are no faults before I start hooking everything up?

      Thanks in advance.

@alext if the board is working normally but the status LED never lights up, it's probably just the LED or its series resistor that is faulty. Do both ends of the LED and resistor R13 appear properly soldered down to the PCB?

Hi, as you can probably see from the slightly out of focus photo, one end of R13 has not been soldered to the board which is very annoying as I don't have the equipment to be able to attempt to rectify the problem. Any suggestions?

@alext I'm sorry that you have received a faulty board. Our automated test equipment doesn't test that the LEDs actually light up. Please send an email to warranty@duet3d.com to claim a warranty replacement and cc your supplier. Include a link to this thread in the email. You will receive a reply with a link to a form to fill in.

@dc42 I managed to find an extremely fine soldering tip for my iron and get some solder on the joint. The LED is now working so problem resolved.

@dc42 thanks for pointing me at where to look. I'd never have found that fault otherwise.
