Freezing Uploads
-
Hello,
Have recently (past 2 weeks or so) run into an issue when uploading files via DWC to my printer. Sometimes it uploads no problem, other times it freezes and eventually fails. I've tried uploading directly from SuperSlicer and PrusaSlicer; and also via DWC directly. The freezing can occur at any uploading % (had it fail at 4% and also at 96%). Uploading via DWC directly retries 3 times before ultimately giving up (sets back to zero and then tries to upload again).
I've run M122 before, during, and after the freeze. WiFi strength -65dBm consistently, even while upload is freezing. The DWC interface itself never freezes (I can see the uploading circle keep spinning) and have no issues with actually using the interface at any time.
I've also run M587 and removed all non-current remembered networks via M588 to ensure it's connecting to the network I'm on.
Running Firmware 3.4.3, WiFi Server 1.27. I cannot upload the new firmware via DWC as it fails to upload at some point.

@Merlin246 we have a report of failing uploads from one user when he runs RRF 3.4.2 or later, but not when he runs 3.4.1. Are you able to downgrade to 3.4.1 and try that? You do not need to downgrade DWC, you can just copy the RRF 3.4.1 binary for your file into the /firmware folder on the SD card, put it back in the Duet, power up the Duet, and run M997.

@dc42 so I moved the printer closer to the access point, it now reports -49dBm and I have no issues with uploading (also just upgraded to 3.4.5, but that happened after the uploading issue was resolved already in 3.4.3 by moving closer to the access point) . However it is in a more office-y area which is not great for noise (was previously in an isolated room).
It appears it has nothing to do with the firmware, however I still find it strange that the WiFi strength at -65dBm (admittedly, not the strongest) caused upload errors. I can down-grade and move it back to the other area as a test if you are still interested in having that tested.
