1LC can problem
-
Hi all,
I've connected my 1LC to Mini5+ board. I get a continuously and quickly flashing red led (on the 1LC) while the Main board works fine but no way to get CAN communication between them. Sending the command "M115 B121" I get the error "Error: Response timeout: CAN addr 121". can some one please give some advice on how to debug and find the problem?
thanks

@Jiarko check that you have connected the CAN wires the right way round: CANH to CANH, CANL to CANL. If the tool board and the main board are running from different power supplied then the grounds must be commoned.

@dc42 thanks for your quick reply!! I've commoned the "-" (I've 2 different power supplies). When I power up the Mini it flash a little bit the green led but then it stops... the 1LC board starts immediatly by contuining and rapidly flashing the red light... any idea on how to debug further? (I've checked with a multimeter that the "-" is really connected well, and I checked the right orientation of "CANH" and CANL") any other test?
thank again

@dc42 I've solved it.
It was my fault (I'm not really a "circuit expert"). playing around with the multimeter I've realized the all can wires are kind of short-circuited. In fact, I've soldered the jumper for the 120 Ohm and at the same time the remaining (unused) CANH and CANL wires. disconnecting this two wires now everything works fine. Do I miss something else?
thanks again
ciao

@Jiarko I'm glad you found the cause. I'll mark this as solved.
