Z axis does not stop during homing
-
Hello Community,
I am new here in this forum. Hopefully someone can solve my headache here.
I run a core xy printer with a duet wifi 1.02 firmware 3.xxx stable.
x and y axis home with microswitch...... no problem
z axis should hime with a npn probe.
it is recornised by DWC, it switches, but when triggered durin home Z or manually the axis does not stop.
setup was done initially with te newest version of the configuration tool.

@Joachim71 said in Z axis does not stop during homing:
Currently, your homez.g and homeall.g do not use the probe; it is homing looking for an endstop at the maximum end of the axis. You need to change them to:
homeall.g
; homeall.g ; called to home all axes ; ; generated by RepRapFirmware Configuration Tool v3.3.16 on Tue Oct 31 2023 15:39:55 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time) G91 ; relative positioning G1 H2 Z10 F6000 ; lift Z relative to current position G1 H1 X-305 Y-275 F1800 ; move quickly to X or Y endstop and stop there (first pass) G1 H1 X-305 ; home X axis G1 H1 Y-275 ; home Y axis G1 X5 Y5 F6000 ; go back a few mm G1 H1 X-305 F360 ; move slowly to X axis endstop once more (second pass) G1 H1 Y-275 ; then move slowly to Y axis endstop G90 ; absolute positioning G1 X15 Y15 F6000 ; go to first bed probe point and home Z G30 ; home Z by probing the bed

Adjust the
G1 X15 Y15 F6000
line to where you want the bed to be probed for Z; usually it's in the middle.Or you can redo your configuration in the configuration tool, and choose 'probe' rather than 'switch' for Z endstop

Thank you very much for the quick response. You are a true life saver. Especially the life of the printer...
Ich modiefied the code a bit so that the head moves to the middle of the bed before probing. The rest was copy / paste. Thank you very much again. Joe -
