Duet 3HC Low Current Outputs
-
Hi there,
I'm working on my first project with the Duet boards. My build uses a 3HC expansion card on a 6XD main controller.
The 3HC card (input voltage: 24V) is intended for the head of a pick-and-place machine. Therefore, I need to control 4 valves that operate at 24V and draw 84 mA each. For this task, I want to use the low-current outputs. I have configured them so that the output voltage matches the input voltage of the board (24V via jumpers). The image below shows a maximum current draw of 800 mA for the 5 ports.
So, each port should be able to handle 160 mA, right?
Additionally, how do these output pins work? For example, does V_OUTLC2 provide the voltage while OUT8 serves as the ground connection?Thank you so much for your help.
Best regards,

Yes. If your valves draw 84mA you should be fine.

Yes, that's it exactly.

Hi Ian,
thank you very much for your fast answer.

@OskarP in fact the 800mA total current limit only applies to outputs for which the jumper is set to 12V. More current is available when the jumpers are set to VIN as you are doing.
