MB 6XD AC servo wiring
-
Hello!
I need help how to properly connect and control ac servo driver with 6xd board. Manuals of servo drive are not clear about wiring in open collector mode (200kHz) or i don`t understand them. Can i take 24V DC from external power supply because 6xd driver headers only support 5V?
There are wiring instructions for servo drive for position control mode:
Or it`s possible to connect them with differential connection?
Please for help!

@dc42 i will be glad if you can help me, i know you are the master of circuits we spoke at formnext in Frankfurt a little..

@Jernej-Lazar although it's not listed as a suggested method, I suggest you try connecting PUL+ to the +5V pin of the 6XD driver connector and PUL- to the STEP- pin. Similarly for the direction signal. Also connect a 1K resistor between PUL+ and PUL-.

@dc42 Thanks for answer! I will try but if it wont work do you think using optocouplers might work?
here is one with 200kHz switching capability:

@dc42 i managed with 240ohm resistors to get 10mA suitable to servo driver and it works...work really well.
Tomorrow i will report wiring with simple sheme...maybe to help somebody!
With timings 2.5 , 2.5, 5 i am achieving 1,6m/s and around 3G accelerationsHow much can i squeeze timings?
I run 0.01 resolution now.. but only one servo driver installed, machine is designed with 4 of them.. how much steps/s can i pull out of 6xd?
Best regards!!
