      Hello,

I have tried to connect my android to duet web control but it won't connect to it. I use tailscale so that it has the same ip address. When testing on the internet the ip is the same as my laptop but the phone don't connect. Laptop with same ip will work perfectly. I turn on my home wifi and turn off my phone's coverage and I can connect, but when I'm in phone coverage I can't connect.

Can anyone help in any way?

      Wishing you all the best,
      Siim

        Hi,
        Can i confirm some details?
when you say android to duet 3d website do you mean duet3d.com or the Duet Web Control hosted by your printer?

your android and your phone are the same ting?

"When testing on the internet the ip is the same as my laptop but the phone don't connect. "
i don't understand what you mean here. what are your testing, from what to what?

lets break it down a bit, i'm assuming you are trying to get Duet Web Control (DWC) working from your android phone.
When your phone is on wifi in the house you can reach the DWC
When you phone is on mobile data but you've turned wifi off, you can't reach DWC
        is that correct?

Newbie, but tries hard. Has a duet 2 Wifi with a Zesty nimble extruder driver on a watercooled block built into some sort ultimaker 3 chassis.

@magnets99 The last paragraph of your text is exactly how I can use my printer. Problem is that i can't connect from other Internet. I understand that if I use Tailscale, connecting from other internet should be possible.

            @Siim
That is correct and is how i use my other web based services. I use Wireguard but it's very similar.

It sounds much more likely that the issue is with your tailscale vpn.

i would post on a forum or reddit dedicated to tailscale.

If you can get to DWC on your local network from your phone when the phone is on wifi then DWC is working.

I'm unsure if it's similar but in my setup i needed to go into my router and port forward through to my wireguard server before i could reach all of my services from my phone.

and i'm assumming you havn't installed any certificates on DWC (you would know if you had). And that you are running ip4 rather than ipv6.

@magnets99 The most interesting thing is that using Tailscale I can read news etc with my home network ip. But when I try to connect to DWC it doesn't load the page.

when you say you can "read the news with my home network ip"
                can you eleborate?

                If you mean:
When i enable tailscale on my phone it gets an ip that is in the same range as my home network and i can visit news.bbc.co.uk

then that's not a very good test as tailscale supports split tunnelling meaning your phone could be connecting and getting an ip on your LAN range but then not routing anywhere and then your phone is using the mobile data connection to get to news.bbc.co.uk directly.

I really think you are better off posting on a tailscale forum or reddit group. I do not believe your issue is with the DWC server.

Or in other words, if you can reach the DWC from within your lan, it is working.
