I have installed an old wifi router near the printer as the one on the second floor is unable to connect to the board when the printer is closed.
no the printer is open (delta) and the router is sitting on the ground at a distance of 1m and im still getting error: timed out while trying to connect…why ??
all other devices can connect to the old router without any problem
I have also deleted from the wifi module the old wifi ssid and re done the procedure but is not working for me, what can I do ?

        1. Please check which firmware versions you are using, by sending M115 to get the main firmware version and M122 to get the WiFi firmware version.

        2. When you send M552 to the Duet, does it report that it is connected to your access point? if so, what signal strength does the M122 report show?

        3. Can you ping the IP address of the Duet from the PC?

And the WiFiServer version? It's in the M122 report.

If you send M552 S1 via USB or PanelDue, what is the eventual response?

I think i have to buy a router and place it in the same room as the printer, with the new model wifi router i can barely connect at -86dBm, totally unresponsive at -89dBm while with the old router ('95) cant even connect within 1m, the strange thing is that the other electronics can.

That shows that it is connecting; however -89dBm is too low a signal level for a reliable connection.

Why not just get a cheap booster that plugs into a socket?
