      Hello,
Am I right that it is possible to use 12V fans in a 24V powered DuetWifi board?
So I have to connect a 12V power to the V_FAN IN port. When I look at the board, Stepper Connectors on Top, is the middle pin of V_FAN IN the 12V +? Since I want to use a step-down module to receive the 12V, does the 12V-(Ground) pin need to be connected to the board as well or is this not necessary?
How many amps are possible to power these pins? (This will allow me to calculate the maximum watts for my fans) And will that be possible for both the PWM fans and the "always-on" fans?

      greetings

I run my duet at 24v but have 12v and 5v available too, so I run my fans straight off my 12v rail and only connect the neg side of the fan to the duet pwm. Works fine that way

The step down module ground does not need to be connected.

Might want to check the wiki on fans to get some more clarification about what's possible.

Step down modules normally have the input and output grounds connected internally. You only need to connect the input ground.

The maximum recommended fan current is documented at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_and_configuring_fans.
