What happens to the board with a seized fan
-
Can a seized fan, on the always on connector, damage the board somehow ?
thx -
If it's a normal small brushless DC fan, it's unlikely to damage the board. If it's a high power fan or an air or water pump using a brushed DC motor, then it could damage the board by burning out the VIN fan trace on 1.02 and earlier revision boards, or blowing the blade fuse on revision 1.03 boards.

its a small 24v 0.1A 40x40 fan, I know that after many hours they tend to stop turning because they are cheap

Are the other fan outputs still working? What position is the fan voltage selector jumper in?
-
All the fan outputs are all working good, the boards are new (1.03) I am just asking for future, I must look ahead…I know that one day the fan that is cooling the board will die....
The fan voltage selector is on the standard (as delivered) position. -
If it's an ordinary brushless DC fan, the current draw when it seizes up won't be enough to damage anything, except possibly the fan itself.
