I also lose connection to my Duet Wifi Board every few minutes in the 3rd beta.

It's crashed again: it's still printing but neither DWC or pronterface can get the Duet to respond.

What's happening is that status requests from DWC or responses to those requests are being delayed for some reason. If no request is received for 8 seconds (other then during a file upload) then the firmware times out the authentication. This was supposed to happen in earlier firmware versions too, but the code was broken on the Duet WiF/Ethernet - which is why responses got repeated if you DWC running on two devices and one of them went to sleep.

I'll ask chrishamm to update DWC to send the password again if DWC get the "Not authorized" response.

If it's still printing, I am surprised that Pronterface doesn't respond. If you are running under Windows, does Device Manager still show the Duet port? Have you tried quitting and restarting Pronterface?

I'm using linux and the tty (/dev/ttyACM0, etc.) just stops communicating. Until the Duet is reset, the tty is not usable anymore. I have tried disconnecting and then reconnecting in pronterface but haven't actually quit the program and retried - back to using 1.21 to see if that is OK and it's not a more generic problem with the Duet.

So far so good with the latest release. On the last one I would have long prints with large file sizes fail with an unable to read source error. I do all my printing using the web interface and uploading there BTW. I don't know if I finally have my printer dialed in or just better filament but I'm getting the best prints I have had to date. Forgot to mention, I am using a Duet Ethernet.

Further to my last replies, my Duet that has crashed a couple of times recently with the network and USB inoperative but the print still carrying on also shows the same behaviour running 1.21 so it's obviously not specific to 2.0. Still damn annoying though. I have two Duets, both running 1.21 and both in the same room accessing the same AP and one keeps crashing and the other is fine.

One other thing, the crashes have only started occurring fairly recently (last month or 2) and before that it was completely reliable. The only recent HW change has been the addition of a BL Touch which is working as expected.

Have you checked that the power connections are still tight?

Have you tried the 2.0RC1 release and the new DWC?

Yes, the power connection were checked fairly recently.

I will try the new releases.
