Adding RGB LED's
-
Hi
I have been doing alot of reading up on the point of adding LED's to the Duet Wifi, and want to make sure that what im planning on implementing will work.
Im planning on using the expansion slot with Heater 3 (Pin8 on Exp. header) to give a PWM signal thru a level converter to a input of an arduino, the arduino will run a script that changes the color of the LED's according to the PWM input value.Am i correct in saying that i have to add "M307 H3 A-1 C-1 D-1" in my config.h to make the pin available,
and then a "M42 P3 Sx" in the gcode scrips where "Sx" will be the PWM output value? And what would be the rating of the 5v output on the Exp. header, could i run a arduino nano off of it?
Thanks in advance

Yes that all sounds OK.
You can certainly drive an Arduino from the 5V output, but if the LEDs will also be powered from that 5V supply then be careful not to overload the 5V regulator. I recommend that you do not exceed 1A total external load on +5V, which includes the PanelDue if you have one.
