Cant home z to endstop
-
Hi guys, so received my duet yesterday and got it all set up, was fairly straight forward as im not exactly super computer literate.
My issue is when I set up a profile in the online configurator I select no probe for z probe and normally open endstop switches, at this point I am unable to select z probe as an endstop as its greyed out due to my earlier selection. so far so good....well not quite, when I load the file into the duet and try to home z it wants me to manually move the axis to touch the bed. if I go into the homez.g file it is set up for z probe, same for home all.I have tride to copy the gcode from homey.g and change everything to z but still no luck. all I want it to do is home to the endstop.
this is the homez.g file.

You also need to define Z axis homing in config.g, the same way as you have it for X and Y.

I had previously done that but didn't work, below this there is something about mesh bed levelling, should I comment them out?

You can. If you do not define mesh leveling in home...g files, it will not trigger.
Use this for homeall.gG91 ; relative positioning G1 Z5 F6000 S2 ; lift Z relative to current position G1 S1 X-305 Y-305 F1800 ; move quickly to X and Y axis endstops and stop there (first pass) G1 X5 Y5 F6000 ; go back a few mm G1 S1 X-305 Y-305 F360 ; move slowly to X and Y axis endstops once more (second pass) G1 S1 Z-305 F300 ; move quickly to Z axis endstop and stop there (first pass) G1 Z5 F6000 ; go back a few mm G1 S1 Z-305 F100 ; move slowly to Z axis endstop and stop there (first pass) G90 ; absolute positioning
I am not too sure about the speeds for Z and the length of movement. Change them if you want. It should work.
For homez.g use this:
G91 ; relative positioning G1 Z5 F6000 S2 ; lift Z relative to current position G1 S1 X-305 F1800 ; move quickly to X and Y axis endstops and stop there (first pass) G1 S1 Z-305 F300 ; move quickly to Z axis endstop and stop there (first pass) G1 Z5 F6000 ; go back a few mm G1 S1 Z-305 F100 ; move slowly to Z axis endstop and stop there (first pass) G90 ; absolute positioning

Seriously thanks, all sorted now just need to tweak speeds ect but im happy.

Don't worry, I couldn't home my z axis, I have no hope of homing in on you haha. cheers again.
