P Peizo and really basic newb question

Is it generally best practice to have the printer / firmware / bed level compensation set the nozzle at zero clearance, and have the slicer handle the first layer nozzle clearance? Or do you want the firmware to start the job with the set clearance?

If you set the Z height so that Z=0 is when the nozzle is just touching the bed, then it should just work. Some slicers have an option to adjust the extrusion rate for the first layer, which may be helpful if your bed surface and filament benefit from a little deliberate over-extrusion.
