Rasberry Pi + 7" better web setup

I have a 7" touchscreen lying around and I played with the duet web interface on it for a while just to test. It's russian roulette with what you hit on the screen so it's not the perfect solution. Was just wondering if it's possible to setup something similar to the paneldue for the rpi touchscreen?

It sounds like you have a bad touch panel. They are normally touch-accurate, especially if you use the tip of your fingernail, not the pad of your finger.

@minim I have tested Rpi+DWC on a 7 inch HDMI touch panel and it works well (I also had a bluetooth keyboard for easier typing).
Tha panel I used was a generic HDMI+USB touch panel that I bought off Amazon.

This is not the capacitive type so it's not like a phone. Using a phone is a tad better but it's still very unstable when it comes to adjusting things while printing. Try sliding the speed slider and pray it doesn't go full throttle
I don't feel safe using it while printing so would prefer a simpler UI when using touch. The slider works fine when I use an accurate mouse to operate it but not so much when the finger is 1/4 the size of the whole slider. -
@minim if its resistive then you can use a stylus with a sharp point. To be fair I seldom use the sliders so did not notice that when i was using it.
I think i will move this thread to DWC area and ask @chrishamm to add a "small screen touch friendly" skin for DWC to the wishlist. Not sure this can be a high priority right now with the other development ongoing.

Sounds good. With all the cheap android tables and old phones/ipads lying around that's a better option than having to deal with paneldue+fw upgrades and so on. I've never tried a panel due tho so I don't say it's bad but it's pricey and not environmental friendly to trash stuff I could have used instead
