      Hi there,

after having a problem with lost connections, fixed by installing an additional ethernet bridged repeater in the same room where my printer is currently located i noticed that the duet wifi does not attempt to reconnect to the AP while a print job is running.
I did some adjustments to the network configuration on my routers VPN service and had to do a restart
which led to a connection loss of all WiFi connected clients, after that only the duet did not come online again.
Is there a pre-configured number of unsuccessfull connection attemps after which the duet stops trying to connect ?

Have you increased the number of AJAX attempts? It's on the Settings page of the DWC, I think on either the first or second tab. I even had the occasional issue with my Ethernet dropping and not reconnecting, but bumping up to 3 or 5 or so AJAX attempts resolved it.

What firmware and DWC versions are you using? The reconnection behaviour was improved recently.

Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later
            Firmware Version: 2.01(RTOS) (2018-07-26b2)
            WiFi Server Version: 1.21
            Web Interface Version: 1.22.5

However please note there is no problem with connection stability, the last time a connection loss occured was forced by me. my router takes ~5 minutes to reboot and accept connections again, after that time the Duet didn't even attempt to connect again and the WiFi module's LED indicator wasn't blinking or permanently on.

I believe there is a time out after which it won't try to reconnect anymore. 5 minutes is quite long for a router boot. If you have a paneldue you could manually cye the wifi module to reconnect.

I have a paneldue but have not found out how to reconnect with it.
Yes 5 minutes is quite long and i dont reboot my network on a regular basis 🙂 It was just an unlucky cirumstance as the print was really long and i wanted to check it on my phone while i am out of house.

                  M552 S0 to disable networking followed by M552 S1 to re-enable it.

You can make a macro with those commands to make it easier in the future. It does come in handy occasionally.

Try upgrading to firmware 2.02RC6. If the WiFi module loses the connection with your access point it will retry continuously, instead of just twice as in 2.01.
