sigh and another issue... Seems after replacing the cheap-o PTFE tube that I used for testing purposes, my equally cheap-o Chinesium extruder can't provide enough traction to reliably push the filament through. (It does, however, provide enough power to reliably chew through the filament. Which does not help a single bit.)

I was half expecting to replace the extruder with something a little better at some point, but not that early on. Well, at least quality hardware is not that hard to get by any more.

Just my personal opinion... based on data set of about 6 printers and about 12 to 18 extruders:

Titan is HIGHLY OVERRATED. For any filament. I've tossed all of mine. Yes, I had real ones. Ordered from E3D in England.

Cheap extruders that come on cheap printers are OK for PLA; they don't do flex at all, and they probably don't do anything out of a "sweet spot" of how much they can push.

Bondtech is the best. Handles anything, including flex, stiff, springy, high pressure, low pressure, whatever. Has a tension adjustment but I've never had to set/reset it.

The Bondtech clone that is built into the Prusa i3 Mk3 is very good, but not quite as good as a real bondtech. I've had them spit flex out the side, just randomly in mid print.

@danal Interesting to read that. I've actually ordered a Bondtech BMG - both due to reports similar to yours and due to the fact that I wouldn't want to order Titan parts from anyone else but E3D at the moment (too many fakes contaminating the market), and they are apparently lagging behind somewhat. Anyhow, the BMG should arrive next week or early in January, we'll see how that goes.

My goto extruder on a delta is the Zesty Nimble light weight and direct drive when mounted to the Smart Effector now running less than 1mm retracts with zero stringing

Highly recommended. No more issues related to bowden tubes.

And very easy to feed new filament as you have easy access to the top of the hotend where the filament enters.

Okay... One Bondtech BMG later and the printer mostly does what it is supposed to do - it prints.

We'll see how that Benchy will turn out, but it looks promising so far. I will have to find a solution to acoustically isolate the BMG from the printer wall though - I'm getting some very prominent resonances at the moment...

Cool, I have a delta (a non-duet) and although I love to see it go, it can be frustrating getting everything just right, probably going to sell it.

On mine I installed a flying extruder, never had an issue with retraction and I can print TPU no problemo, plus it looks cool.

The "smart effector" and a calibration before every print (slicer start g-code)... and... viola! Un-Frustrating delta!

My "BFD" (Big Fast Delta, a scratch-build 600x600mm printer) is now my "GoTo" printer for everything,

For example, it printed this. Flying Radio Controlled model, therefore all single layer prints, which are very touchy to get right. Canopy (windshield) was printed on a smaller delta with 1mm nozzle installed. BIG layers make transparent more transparent.

Anyway, deltas that self calibrate ROCK.

                        Nice! how does it fly?

I've been toying around with the idea of a CF/PETG hybrid drone frame.
