Hi there, I have just finished building my new CNC Router that comes with a Duet3D ethernet controller. Everything was going great until I got involved with connecting and commissioning the controller. Using YAT I identified the board IP address as 0.0.0.0 so I changed it (again using YAT) to 192.168.1.14
My laptop IP address is 192.168.1.11 and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1
When I try to connect using the browser, it says that it can't connect. Also can't connect using duettest.local I'm sure there's an obvious solution to somebody with experience but I'm a complete novice. I would appreciate any help offered.
      Thank you in advance.
      Bill.

Have you seen this guide? https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/1.)+Getting+Connected+to+your+Duet/7#s20

Do you have access to your router? If so, can you see if the Duet shows up as a device on the router.

Thanks Phaedrux. Yes, that is the guide I am using at the moment, just can't seem to contact the board via browser. I am using an ethernet cable direct from the laptop to the controller but can't get the interface up

Ah that may be a problem. I don't think the Duet Ethernet is auto negotiating, so you may need to use a crossover cable to connect from the laptop directly to the Duet.

Can you ping the Duet address?

I just had a thought. I mean CNC router, as in woodworking tool, not internet gizmo.

I think it may be easiest to use your router through a router. 😜

@phaedrux Not a bad idea. I do have a router (gizmo) as well as a router (woodworking). I'll connect it and have a look. ☺
