No Tool Selected

Runnning into a issue.
When ever i try to extrude or retract it says
no tool selected.how do i select a tool?

Send T0 to select tool 0. T1 to select tool 1 etc. Or press the appropriate button in DWC or on PanelDue. If you have a single extrusion printer then you probably only have tool.0.

On panel due. Selecting hotend to heat up doesn't seem to select the tool to extrude

If the current temperature box has a red background when using the light theme, then the tool is selected. If not, press the nozzle icon at the top of the column.
