I noticed the panel due won't be supplied power if I am reading the pins correctly using the ribbon cable.

I do not have a 4 pin connector handy but I could make one - the issue is that there is nothing written for what pins are what on the PanelDue board to know what pins are which.

So what is the proper way to connect this together?

there is picture of backside, where 4 pin connector is shown. This picture of 7i, but 5i is same.

Duet WiFi rev 1.02 and later can use just the ribbon cable to connect PanelDue. Earlier versions need the 4-core cable. The order of the pins on the 4-core cable is exactly reversed from one end to the other.
