Using a fan output for heater control?
-
I'm out of heater outputs on my Maestro and I still want to run an enclosure heater. I have a spare controllable fan output. Is there a way to set up a heater controller to run through a fan connector?
I've found a discussion on how to use a heater output for fans but not how to use fan outputs for heaters. I intend to power the heater through an SSR so the fan jack's limited current capacity isn't a problem.

That would be possible in RepRapFirmware 3 if I increase the maximum number of heaters.

Is that maximum heaters a limitation for the Maestro too? Currently it can only control 3 heaters. Right now I have to decide between a second extruder or an enclosure heater. Or bite the bullet and switch to the regular Duet Wifi/Eth.

In RRF 3 I have increased the maximum number of heaters supported by the Maestro to 4.
