Non Linear Extrusion
-
After scratching my head, re-learning basic algebra from 20 yrs ago, and measuring filament extrusion for about 2 months. these are my results.

I might be doing something wrong but it looks to me that an exponential curve is a better fit for my extruder. Help me out here guys. Am I doing something wrong?

I think you need more points on the curve to establish what shape it is with any certainty. Have you tried a cubic fit with a zero second order term? i.e. ax + bx^3. That would be more economical to compute.

I will measure .5mm/s to 5mm/s in .25 increments. Do you think that would be granular enough? Maybe .10 increments? Also should I disable pressure advance for these measurements? I wouldn't think it matters for extrusion lengths so long, but honestly I'm no expert on the matter.

@dc42 Ok, I've added more data points. For what ever reason the extrusion is off from what I measured yesterday, but I think the data is still useful in tracking extruder behavior. I've made this copy editable, feel free to poke around.
