Smooth bed mesh compensation?
-
I am using a Duet 2 maestro on a Prusa MK2. Those machines have an inductive z probe and a PCB heatbed with chunks of metal in 9 points for calibration. Can I make the output of bed mesh compensation any smoother (so no sharp corners) when I can't physically probe in more places? Stock firmware for the new Prusa machines does this by interpolating the measured mesh from 3x3 to 7x7 and smoothing the curvature out.

I am sorry, I am too busy with preparations for the TCT show to look at this right now. But if the 9-point height map is stable, then you could export it and use a text editor to add the interpolated points.
Alternatively, if the bed is flat and the gantry doesn't sag, try a 2x2 mesh.

It's OK, I can wait. Unfortunately, the bed is neither flat nor stably curved. The PCB traces which are also the bed's heating element are on one side which causes a bit of flex due to thermal expansion.
