I have a 24v, 40w hotend. Can I safely connect to rg45 and cat6 cable? Amps of hotend is 1.6a.

Cat6 is 23 AWG so a lot depends on how long the cable length is. For power transmission, the recommended max continuous current is only about 0.75 amps. Also remember that you'll need stranded cable not solid.

I use Cat6 stranded for the probe, thermistor but still use a silicone 18awg for the heater.

Thanks. I got similar answers on another forum. I will wire hotend separately.

also the rj45 connectors are not rated for high current.
