Dual PSU question.

  • Hello people,

I am currently running my printer with a chinese PSU (300w) that came with my first printer kit. Although it is currently working fine (for almost 2 years now), a bit noisy but fine, i was considering of removing some load from it. I have an ATX PSU laying around from a small factor HP PC i had. It is 250w and my though is to use this ATX psu for my Duet, and the led-type PSU for the heatbed (everything is currently running at 12v).

My question is: Does it matter which one I use for the main (Duet) PSU and which one for the bed? And if i use the ATX as a main PSU should i still use a load resistor just for it to turn on?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Doesn't really matter which is which, as long as the wattage for the bed is within each.

    Yes to the resistor.

Just curious: Duet 2 or 3?

  • Thanks for the reply!

I did the configuration everything works fine, thanks!

As for the board is a Duet 2 Wifi board.
