      Hi there,

like the Title says, i still planning to let the Raspberry Pi 3b+ in its Pi-Top 2 and to use it as a 3D Printer Screen / controlling Unit with the Duet 3 pi OS.

*Is it still necessary that i have to Connect the Pi 3b+ and Boot up without any other Wiring done first?
What should be the max or lowest Amp Output of the Mobile Phone USB Power Adapter which leads into the non wired Duet 3 Board when i connect the pi3b+ for config?
I still have concerns about to use a Quick charging Adapter with high Amp rates.

*For a few prints i have to use my old capacitive Bed Level Sensor (Tronxy XY08-N 6-36V, max 300 mA) for the first few prints before i can switch to a genuine 3D Touch. i'm not able to find any specific informations how to connect the XY-08N Capacitive Sensor except one Duet 2 topic.
Pictures from that Sensor and the old Connector cable and his Dock:

For 6V i have to use Duet OUT4 and switch that TACH4 OUT into a IO IN if this is possible?

Thanks a Million for all Help and this great Controller Board from Duet.

I havent looked up if its a PNP or NPN type sensor, but the signals are the same, just more pins on the Duet3. If it won't work off 5V that is on the IO_n connector you'll need to wire the red to the Vin or 12V somewhere suitable. Blue to ground on the IO_n connector and black to IO_n.in.

If you're using quality USB supplies there is hardly any risk with using a 4A or even QC3.0 enabled port with the Pi and Duet. It is the load that determine how much current to draw, the supply only regulates the voltage, which should be the same 4.5-5.5v as for any USB supply.

Perfect, Thanks. I'll try that. if the 5V on a IO_n 5V_EXT pin isn't enough.

I've prewired it without power Connection to prevent any shortages. Do i need to unplug all infront to setup the RaspPI3b+ like shown in the Manual?
The DuetPi Image is already pre installed and upgraded in the Pi Top 2.

*I owe two HTC Quick Charger so I'll be fine i guess

For anybody who might have the same Question related to Duet3.
I'll confirm if it works out when i've checked / done the rest of the wiring, and when the Firmware Config is done.
            Thanks Baerer

I did not know this was ever necessary, and in fact, I did not do it that way... I had at least one or two things wired at first power up.

just beware running at a lower voltage could affect both sensing distance and accuracy.

@bearer Thanks, i still thought about the same. If it doesn't work i've to get the 12 volt from an other Pin. A shortage is not possible now, So I'll test it with a metal spachel before if the measuring distance decreased for the reason of 5-5,5 Volt instead of 6.

@Danal Thanks, i would like to get that confirmed from a official before i even would try it.
You may right. If i have the main Power Supply unplugged, i don't see any risk in it. Guarantee wise I still try to be as careful as i can.
I've read a bunch other forum threads and don't want to risk it in case of own made wiring mistakes or processing order Failures.
My preordered Duet 3 Expansion Board didn't arrive even because it's in production up to the end of february. I still have time left make it flawless.
