I have recieved my duet 2 ethernet a few days ago but have not been able to connect to it using either the usb port or the ethernet port. The main processor on the board get very hot. Within 30 seconds after plugging the usb cable in, the processor is so hot i feel like i could burn myself on it.
My guess is that the main processor has an short in it but i could be wrong. I would like to know what you guys think what might be the issue or how to solve it.

@stanh1502 Sorry you're having problems with your new board. How have you connected it up? Just with USB, as described here? https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/1.)+Getting+Connected+to+your+Duet/7
If you have already connected everything else, please disconnect everything except USB and try and connect again. It's possible that your wiring is causing a short circuit. Follow this guide, say what does and does not work (LED status, if it show up on you PC): https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/What_to_do_if_your_Duet_won't_respond

If you could take a good, high resolution picture of the top of the board, it may be possible to see if there are any failed components.

I have the board connected to the usb port on my laptop. The usb cable used is the original from Duet. I have not had anything else connected to the board appart from an separate 24v powersupply. I have tested both the usb port and the 24v powersupply and they are working fine. I don't see any defective components on the board.

I have disconnected everything from the board.
Both the 5v and the 3.3v led are on.
The DIAG led between the usb connector and the sd card socket remains permanentely on. I have tried wit hand without the sd card installed so this can’t be caused by an boot loop. I have not changed the firmware either.
I have used an usb tester which shows me the usb port power is good. I have also treid an different cable than the one supplied with the kit but that didn’t work either.

@stanh1502 Thanks for the pictures. To us, it looks like U3 has failed; there's what looks like a small melted area in the top next to the 'L' of 103L.

I'm happy to approve a warranty replacement, assuming that the board is less than 6 months old. Please contact your supplier, follow their warranty process, refer them to this thread for approval.

@james3d Please start a new thread to discuss your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible; see the links and suggestions in this thread, particularly https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/What_to_do_if_your_Duet_won't_respond and say what does and does not work.
