Is G Code file the same for delta and carthesian designs?
-
hi, im trying to print something on my custom designed delta printer, but im not sure i am doing it right. im using a duet 2 maestro.
so my plan is:
1.upload the stl file in cura
2.create a gcode file with creality cr10s settings (not running on a duet board)
3.upload the file i created to the DWC and start printing on my delta printer.i have already created a height map and calibrated the extruder and everything seems to be working just fine thanks to all who helped.
is it alright if i use the cr10s settings and all in cura to make the gcode file? or is there a way to add my custom printer to cura and create the file then? or does it even make a difference or not?
or should i use something other than cura to create the file?thanks!

creality cr10s
Short answer this will not work because you are using two diffrent Printer. You must make a extra Profile for your delta Printer.

Yes and no.
The biggest typical incompatibility is that Cartesian printers almost always have X0Y0 in a corner. Delta printers almost always have X0Y0 in the center of the bed. So a print sliced for cartesian will print way off on one 'side' of the Delta, often pushing it out of the boundary of the print bed.
The best answer, as mentioned above, is to create a new printer profile in Cura. This should take less than one minute.

See adding a custom printer.
You may be able to use the CR-10 print settings profile to some degree, but you'll need to tell Cura you're using a delta so it knows the shape of the bed.
