reprap.htm is there and works when opened directly from SSD but not through USB.
SSD presumably means SD as in SD card?
And by through USB you mean sending
M20 P/www
to the duet serial console you do not see the file? If so share the output ofM122
Yes, SD card. Sorry.
I can see the files in the console but DWC won't start in browser. Here's the M122 output:
-
nothing immediately wrong with that; M122 says it finds the SD card, and M20 confirms it can read the files.
Only thing I can think of is there is no index file, just he reprap file, which suggests its either missing or an old version of DWC?
-
Good to know that the card and socket are ok.
I haven't removed or renamed any of the files on the SD. However I copied the reprap.htm and renamed it as index.htm - no change.
-
if you're running version 1.22 or thereabouts, having only reprap.htm.gz is correct, version 2x of DWC should have an index.htm.gz so could be either way.
I'd either download DWC files and extract a fresh copy to the SD card or enable developer console in the browser to review the network traffic to find out exactly what is failing.

Also this happens, still on USB and Ethernet cable disconnected:
I should be able to ping it right?

uhm, not if the ethernet cable isn't connected? otherwise yes.
-
Now I disconnected the USB, connected the ethernet and powered up the Duet - response to ping still the same.
-
In the first post you had USB + Ethernet presumably, any reason to disconnect the USB now?
Is it configured for DHCP, and do you have a reserved address for the Duet or could it change?
-
Only USB in the first posts.
DHCP - yes and fixed IPs.
-
Presuming the Duet is still in the same state as in the first post it should respond.
Are you sure your computer can reach that network? what does the
route
command in your shell show you? -
Sorry for having these in Finnish...
USB LAN (ethernet) seems to be ok. Duet is there too (I didn't put it in there though, that just showed up) but cannot be connected to.
-
hmm, try changing your netmask to 255.255.255.0 instead of 255.255.255.255 (or from /32 to /24).
same for the duet if neccecary.
-
actually, if you're using DHCP and getting a /32 address something is a bit strange. What does the ethernet cable from the usb ethernet adapter on the mac(?) connect to?

Directly to Duet

then I'm not sure where the DHCP server comes from, the Duet does not provide one. Is the computer providing a DHCP service?
In any case the netmask will most likely have to change to something less than /32
-
I dumped the DHCP and forced the mask to 255.255.255.0 and now the thing seems to be working!
The only change that has happened between now and the last time I used the Duet is a Mac OS update so I guess something got messed up then.
I'm quite bad with computers and networks so Thanks a million!
-
What other options do you have for
-
Ah, too late, but you got it.

"Manually" with mask 255.255.255.0 worked.
-
yeah, i just didn't see your previous response while writing that question. all good!
