SPI Buffer

Hello guys,
I am starting work to work with the Duet3D.
I was checking the schematic and the first question arises.
Why the MISO signal doesn´t cross the 74HC125 buffer??

Master In Slave Out; its the only signal that is driven from the slave and it is sufficient to drop the voltage over a resistor; the alternative requires a bi-directional buffer level translator.
