Duet wifi 2 stopped working
-
After having days the plate working without problems and making all the settings yesterday afternoon, it disconnected from the WIFI, turning off the WIFI led.
I disconnected it from the power supply and reconnected and the WIFI was not activated and the WIFI module is very hot.
I disconnect the board from the printer and connect it via USB to the computer. It does not recognize me when connecting, keeping the DIAG led on.
After a while the DIAG led turns off and the board recognizes it on the PC and I can communicate on it, but the WIFI module is still very hot and does not work.
I repeated the process and I was no longer able to reconnect the PC to the board.
Any idea how to solve the problem?

It will require physical repairing most likely the WiFi module is broken. The heat is a result of an internal short, that could have overloaded the 3.3v regulator causing the board to stop working in the end.
Its also possible the WiFi module was damaged due to a transient and the other 3.3v components like the main processor are also damaged, impossible to diagnose fully at this point.
Removing the SD card probaly doesn't make any difference at this point but its probably the only thing on https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/What_to_do_if_your_Duet_won't_respond besides which other LEDs are on when you connect it to USB.

I had already read that page.
All the other LEDs are on and I remove the SD with the same result.

If you have 3.3v LED when powered by (just) USB and the the board is not detected by the computer, odds are the processor is damaged and there is nothing to loose by trying the erase jumper procedure at the bottom as the board is "completely unresponsive" and there is no reason to suspect the USB cable is the problem as it previsouly worked.
If it doesn't give you a usb serial port to recover with BOSSA maybe upload some clear high resolution pictures to see if it helps determine the extent of the damage; but the board will need surface mount rework to function one way or the other.
