I am building a 3D printer and I am so close to get up and running. I ran into a problem. When I got the "Extrude" button in Pronterface, my extruder shaft stutters even when there is no filiment in the extruder. I have a full metal gear extruder.

I have rulled out wiring issues and stepper driver issues my moving my motors and driver's around accordingly.

I believe there is a software or command issue.
      Does anyone have any ideas?

        How did you verify wiring?

How did you test the motor and driver with swapping?

Does the motor work on another driver?

Does a different motor work on the same driver?

What board are you using and what firmware?

Have you set the motor currents correctly?

Have you tried controlling the motor from DWC instead of proterface?

How is your extruder configured? Please share your config.g
