    Extruder heater E0 socket melted.

      Duet 2 Wifi
      Board: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later (duetwifi102)
      Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 2.04 (2019-11-01b1)
      Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.23

      Bought a good while back now direct from the manufactory.

      Sadly now my Extruder heater E0 socket has deformed/melted. What is the name of the socket? and as an interim how can I tell the board to use E1 which is at present unused.

      Also, does anyone know why it has suddenly done its self in? Nothing has changed with the board for ages, been printing just fine, never missed a beat, the only thing I can think of is that it was a 22-hour print, the heater cartridge is a 24v 40w.

        Were you using crimped ferrules on the wire ends? Bare wires can loosen overtime and the increased resistance causes heat which can eventually get hot enough to melt the socket. It's also a good idea to tighten them up after a break in period, and again occasionally as preventative maintenance.

        Perhaps post some detailed close up photos that show the extent of the damage. It's possible the damage goes beyond just the terminal. Though it's a good sign if the rest of the board is still functioning.

        To remap the heater you'll need to move your thermistor connection over to E1 and the heater of course, then you'll need to change your M305 P1 to M305 P2 and your tool definition in M563 H1 to M563 H2 in config.g
