Still trying to figure out fans outputs on Duet 3 6CH

      Description of Connections says:
2-pin KK connectors labelled OUT7 thru OUT9: these are intended for fans. Maximum recommended current 2.5A each. Flyback diodes are built-in to these outputs.

      Important notes says:
The two banks of Low Current outputs (OUT4-6, OUT7-9) can be separately selected to be powered by either VIN or internal 12V. Total 12V fan current draw must not exceed 800mA.

So is it 2.5A or 800mA?

Both. You cannot source more than 800mA from the 12v supply and you shouldn't sink more than 2.5A into each mosfet (if the supply used can source that much current).

          Thank you!

Sorry, just to confirm. 800mA limitation only when jumper is set to 12v? And if I use VIN voltage I can draw up to 2.5A from each (OUT4-6, OUT7-9). It this correct?

I don't want to fry the board.

            Correct-ish.

The 800mA limit applies to the combined 12V load, from any output.

But Vin you can load up to 2.5A on each output, provided the supply can deliver the current ofcourse. (If you need more 12V you could use Vin=12v, or external DC/DC converter)

Well.. I'm powering Duet 3 from 24v 15A supply and need 24v PWM to control 24v 1.75A vacuum pump (instead of fan).

Hm, I just had a concern if the 2.5A each wording may be misleading, as the current would have to travel through the jumper, totaling to 7.5A for the single jumper and three outputs pr bank. Maybe @T3P3Tony could clarify?

In any case the vacuum pump will be fine regardless of 2.5A pr output or 2.5A pr bank of outputs. You should also consider the total current consumption of the pump, Duet, stepper motors and any heaters or other stuff connected.

https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Choosing_the_power_supply should help evaluate the total power consumption if needed.

My bed heater using mains power trough SSR, so 24v 400 Watts should be enough to power everything else.

Thanks a lot for your support, I will mark this question as answered.

oh yes! with change to spare..
