@Phaedrux Do i have to be using web control for this with standalone? Right now it's not an option due to no ports- I'm at work. I could find a longer cord and go to the next room if need be.
if not do i just unzip that folder into the SD Card into that same directory?

New config file. it just reads busy and the temp boxes for the extruder are gone unless i switch the two io pins. then they come back but it sits on connecting

          Yes.

You could do the manual firmware update process if you only have access to the board via USB terminal. Extract the zip file, copy just the firmware bin file to the SD card in the /sys folder. Connect via USB and send M997 S0.

          https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M997_Perform_in_application_firmware_update

For the DWC files, download this zip file and extract it to the /www folder

          https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.1.1/DuetWebControl-SD-3.1.1.zip

Once you are updated, send M115 to confirm and then try sending M98 P"config.g" and report any errors.

@Phaedrux i downloaded that zip folder and unzipped it and they're mostly .gz f files and nothing named firmware.bin or similar.
Should i be downloading this firmware bin from DC's github?

ok so i unzipped that same file again and now a bunch of .bin files are showing up. I'll copy the duet 3 mb6hc to the sys folder and do the m997 etc

It would be substantially easier if we had network access to DWC.

yeah I'll have to get IT involved for that though. Why do i need to update the firmware for a brand new board though? Shouldn't it still work.
I do have a Ethernet to USB connector for a PLC but that was a pain to figure too. probably not worth the hassle.

There have been many improvements and fixes for RRF3 between the release candidates. Version 3.1.1 is the latest nad has been proven to be quite stable. So it's strongly recommended to update just to eliminate any potential problems that have already been fixed.

Just in case there was something wrong with the file, try downloading this one

                      https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.1.1/Duet3Firmware_MB6HC.bin

Compare the size. It should be 557 KB. Make sure it is within the /sys folder.

Also, just to make sure you have all the other required files present, download these from the 3.0 release and place them in the /sys folder as well.

                      https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.0/Duet3iap_sd_MB6HC.bin

                      https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.0/Duet3iap_spi_MB6HC.bin

                      https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.0/Duet3_SDiap_MB6HC.bin

When you have all those files in place in /sys try M997 S0 again.

Otherwise your new config looks alright. I'm not sure of your hardware so I can't say if it's all correct or not, but you should be able to do some commissioning testing.

Going to get IT to hook it up to the network and go form there.

@Phaedrux Good news- after much formatting and getting the card to read and what not it's finally working on dwc. both hot end showing up, sits at idle.
followed the update firmware from the settings menu and selected the file you posted and i still get

                            M997 S0

Error: M997: Firmware binary "Duet3Firmware_MB6HC.bin" not found

I tried putting all 3 of those files in the /sys folder too and put it back in the board and same thing.
I may just leave it until i get the rest of the printer built and hooked up and see how it runs?

Now that you're on the network and have access to DWC you can try the simpler firmware update method.

Upload this zip file as is to the /sys folder in DWC
                              https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.1.1/Duet2and3Firmware-3.1.1.zip

That should prompt a firmware update and reboot.

Strange. Let's try installing the 3.0 release via the zip file first to ensure all the correct files in place, and then installing the 3.1.1 release.

Download this zip file and then upload it as is to the /sys folder via DWC.
                                  https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.0/Duet2and3Firmware-3.0.zip

Then do the same with the 3.1.1 zip file after it reboots.

If that still does not work, you may need to flash the firmware using USB connection and bossa.
