As you can see in the image, the wiring for this cable is completely ass backwards. So any wiring guides https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_a_Z_probe#Section_BLTouch here can be thrown out the window. I burnt my BLTouch because I followed this guide using this connector assuming the color coding scheme was correct. Only later did I realize the whole color scheme was reversed. It took a while to even find out what pins were what as I could not find a single wiring diagram for the BLTouch (in terms of pins). But sure at the end of the day it's my mistake for foolishly assuming people who create the color schemes know what they're doing. Not gunna lie this feels like some sneaky sabotage for Duet users, why on earth would you use a similar color coding and reverse the wires. It seems that if you get this particular BLTouch (Sold by creality with the Creality Logo and all) with this particular cable which was meant for the Creality Ender 3 v2 then you're going to get ass backwards wiring.

this seems like a production error.

their wiring diagrams use the same color coding

Check again this color scheme is correct but it's reversed end to end. It's not the BLTouch itself but the cable that was sent with it. The BLTouch was fine but the cable sent has the color scheme backwards.

I should not have assumed the color schemes would be standard. I thought I'd make a post to maybe save someone's BLTouch in the future with similar cables.

For background I am using a Duet2 Wifi board and I cut this cable up and wired it into the Duet3d board using the guide in the link I provided. The mistake was in assuming the color code for the BLTouch wires was standard. Apparently it's not standard.

I guess since they are using their own PCB and ribbon cable they figure it doesn't matter since the cable ends are keyed it's hard to make an error when installed in their own machine.

Why get the Creality version at all if not using the Creality board? For the mounting hardware?

I can add a warning to the BLTouch probe section to look out for the Creality kit wiring not being standard.

I bought it because it came with the mounting bracket and a nice long cable... looking back I wish I'd of not got the cable lol. Here's a photo with the correct wiring

did you look at the video. they explicitly tell you not to connect it that way round

You can only connect this cable one way.

Yes, it seems it's a production error, according to that video, the wiring should be reversed. Sad indeed.

Hindsight being 20/20, it's a quick and cheap insurance to check continuity between ground pins on two interconnected things to rule out those issues before turning the power on. (It's not perfect, but, surprisingly effective for little effort)

Wiring issue still relevant today. Plugged in using instructions, didn't work. I thought I fried my main board by reversing the wiring and seeing a puff of smoke and a flash. Turns out it was a fuse that strangely, was still good? Set up back the way they had wired it originally then moved blue pin to z-stop and it worked fine. Thank you for pointing out that the blue wire, and not the white wire is the sensor. Guess I got lucky, printer still heats up the bed, nozzle and all axis function properly...
