i was here to see how i can change my IP to static via https://forum.duet3d.com/post/42798. however, i do not know what DC42 means by doing it through a macro. I can make a macro file but does he mean to just run it after the board boots? like make a macro file with the body as "m587 Ixxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" and then just run that?

You can run it manually, through the DWC console if you are already connected via WiFi, or from YAT. In the M587 command, as well as the IP address you need to specify the SSID and password.
