      Hello,

I purchased a Duet 3 in late September 2020 for a project that I have just gotten around to now.

Upon connecting to the PC I cannot get the USB Device to recognize (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

I have tried booting with and without an microSD card.
I have followed the steps for booting while the erase jumper is active. (And subsequently resetting the device.)
I have also tried several different USB cables and verified that they are all power and data.

The board is powered on 24V DC.

There are also no lights on the ethernet keystone when I plug in a 3 m CAT8 length cable.

What are my next steps? I purchased this board from Printed Solid in the USA.

      Thank you for your help!

      Cheers,
      Peyton

What LEDs light up when connected to just USB or just to VIN?

Photos of the board? Perhaps we can spot a damaged chip.

Do you mean it shows up but it has the device descriptor request failure message in it's properties box?

          Hi,

When connected to USB the 3.3v & 5v LEDs light up solid.

When connected to 24 VDC all four LEDs light up solid.

When you connect it to a PC and then go to device manager the icon is a yellow triangle. The error is device descriptor request failed. I have tried uninstalling the device. Power on-off cycling the pc, isolating the pc from ground, and through multiple powered hubs and usb-port clusters.

There are no COM ports present in BOSSA or SAM-BA. I have now tried the with multiple windows machines and the result is the same.

Here is a link to an image of the board: (I am on mobile and cannot upload here.)

probably just artifacts or lighting that makes the cpu soldering look a bit odd, but won't hurt to add another picture of the circled area?
