Polar. IDEX? Doable?

I got an idea of building another simple build.

Is it possible have IDEX or even more independant axes with RRF on polar kinematics?

A friend asked about polar and i remembered old HDD disks with multihead designs. It sparked imagination and if possible, this could be a fun little build

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be possible. You could have a single gantry passing over the turntable so that both heads can reach the same print area. It would need either a firmware modification, or you could use the tool change files to switch the X driver when changing tools.

@dc42 yeah toolchange i’d like. So apart from setting kinematics, all would be the same then?
