      Hello All,
There may be an answer to how to fix this error here someplace, but I'm so new to this I'm not sure where to Navigate to.
      I have a Duet wifi2 and running 3.2.2
I'm updating my CR-10s The x and y axis work and hit end stops correctly, but z shows this error.
      G28 Z
Error: Z probe already triggered at start of probing move
I think I have the Z motor and end stop wired the same as the x and y axis. Since I 'm so new to this I don't know the best way to resolve this.

      Help!

The error mentions a Z probe.

        Are you homing Z with a Z endstop or a Z probe?

        Thanks.

          Thanks.

I'm homing with End_stop switch. At this time I don't have a z probe, Like BL touch or anything like that.

OK at this point we need to see all of your *.g configuration files.

Please post them using the </> tag.

I reposted you config.g contents using the </> tag.

We also need to see your homing files.

                Thanks.

@handymanpa54 said in G28 Z Error: Z probe already triggered at start of probing move:

                        ; Z-Probe
M558 P0 H5 F120 T6000 ; disable Z probe but set dive height, probe speed and travel speed
                        M557 X15:215 Y15:195 S20 ; define mesh grid

Since you don't have a Zprobe at all you can actually comment out these lines entirely by adding a; in front of the line. That way they will be ignored by the firmware.

Your homeall looks to be using the endstop rather than a probe, so I'm not sure where the error is coming from exactly.

Does your homez have the same lines?

Can you send M119 and check the status of your endstops? Send it once with the switch clicked, and again with it not clicked.

Also for good measure, please send M122 and M98 P"config.g" in the gcode console and post the responses here.

                            Hi,
My homez.g had other text so I copy and pasted in what you showed. Still the same results.
Then I toggled the x axis with my finger and saw the lite go on and off.I tried the same on the Z axis, but the lite goes dim but not all the way off!!!

I noticed in the dashboard window Status shows Z_probe with red and 988? I don't know if that is normal?

I got z to show homed, so I was able to use machine movement to give +5 but it moves down towards the bed and -5 makes it move away from the bed.

Then you'll need to change the direction of rotation for the Z axis.

                                  Change S0 to S1 in config.g

And this is with the endstops both clicked and unclicked? Or just Z?

Sounds like a wiring issue. Bad crimp maybe? Bad switch?

If you commented out those probe lines I'm not sure what it would show there or why, but it's not really relevant at all when using an endstop instead of a probe.

While we're at it might as well update the firmware.

Download this zip file and upload it to the System tab in DWC.

hi, the Z axis travels in the proper direction now. I changed from S1 to S0. I still had the problem with the limit switch. That turned out to be 10k resistor on the limit switch board. I get it to stop on home now. I just need some code so that it will do a double kiss of the z limit switch and the second one should be slower so it can be more exact.
                                    I'm actually making progress.
                                    Thanks for your help!

You can see an example of that in the other homing files.
