Is it possible to run 1 stepper motor with 2 stepper drivers?
So motor is rated for 6-8A with 2 drivers on board

I don't think that's how it works. You'd be better served by a larger external driver if you needed more current.

No, it's not possible. However, MB6HC can supply up to 6.3A peak/4.5A, which is enough for many Nema 34 motors.

Okay, thank you. Would it be beneficial to install additional cooling on the stepper driver chips or just add active air cooling?

And are there protection from "burning" the board?

Air blowing across both sides of the board along the driver area is best. Don't add heatsinks to the chips. The board itself is designed to sync away the heat to the ground plane. Once those little heat sinks get heat soaked they act more like insulators and don't really offer enough surface area to make a difference.

@phaedrux I feel an opportunity coming up for watercooling modders and RGB enthousiasts 😜
