Im creating this post because this topic arised in another post I did but not really related to this.

This is the scenario: Im using mesh levelling for bed compensation. I Have and offset between the nozzle and the probe of 10 mm to the left (probe) and 10mm to the from. So the nozzle is 10 mm to the right and 10,, to the back of the probe.

Documentation says, I have to set the Z datum before doing the mesh levelling using G29.

What Im doing now: I send the print head to X175 Y175: G1 X175 Y175 (my bed center) (Home already done before this of course). So the nozzle is at 175,175. At that position I do a G30, with this I guess Z datum is set, then I do a G29

But in the other post I was told that this might be wrong because I was ignoring the probe ofsset. According to that I should position the nozzle in X185 Y185 so the probe is really in X175 Y175. And then I can set the Z datum

This is where it is confusing: the firmware will assume this probing is being done on the center of the bed or it will assume is being don to the back and right of the bed center (because the nozzle actually is not at the center)

What is the proper way to position the nozzle for doing a Z datum in the good way?

      Thanks in advance
